What is a posture analyzer?
PT-Posture Analysis system is used to evaluate the human skeletal system and indicates the extent of anomalies or asymmetries. The posture analyzer evaluates spinal anomalies, skeletal anomalies, body asymmetries, and deviations in the body’s axis by Using photogrammetric technology. The device comprises a digital camera, calibration banner, markers, and user-friendly software interface.
How to use a posture analysis system?
The examiner stands in front of the calibration screen either unclothed or wearing thin clothing that adheres to the body to conduct posture analysis. Following the protocol outlined in the device manual, specific anatomical landmarks such as the left or right tragus, extremities, and major trochanters of both femurs are marked with colored markers.
The camera, mounted on a stand, is positioned at a predetermined distance from the calibration banner and connected to the computer/software via a USB port. The individual assumes a natural stance in three orientations: facing front, back, and sideways relative to the camera. The software records images in these three views, allowing for the comparison of deviations and asymmetries with normal ranges. Any detected anomalies are clearly identified within the software.

What observations can be made by this device?
Any type of skeletal abnormality, including deviations and asymmetries, that exceeds normal values in the human body’s skeletal system can be diagnosed as a disorder. The PayaTek postural analysis is capable of measuring and detecting:
- kyphosis
- Lordosis
- shoulder alignment
- pelvic alignment
- Knee angle (knee forward or backward)
- Head and neck angle (neck forward or backward)
- Any abnormal curve in the shoulders
- VALGUS & VARUS
- And…
Why is automatic calibration so important in a posture analyzer?
It’s crucial to emphasize the camera’s distance from the calibration banner and its viewing angle in common posture analysis devices. Any changes in these parameters can potentially affect the accuracy of test results. As a result, if the device technology can eliminate this dependency on environmental conditions, it would solve the biggest problem associated with using this device. PT-Posture Analyzer employs automatic calibration, ensuring that the analysis is performed with maximum precision and eliminating concerns about device relocation during testing.
Why Posture Analysis is important?
Posture analysis implicates evaluating the natural position of body posture during sitting and standing. Good posture extends beyond merely standing upright for aesthetic reasons; it’s integral to long-term health. Abnormal posturing involves rigid body movements and chronic positions that deviate from the norm. Many instances of abnormal postural behaviors arise in severe spinal cord or brain injuries. Posture analysis tests are integral to kinesiology, a branch of physical therapy dedicated to studying the body’s anatomy and physiology concerning movement. A postural analysis system provides a dependable and precise means to assess posture, identify existing abnormalities, and prevent future issues.
PT-Posture Analyzer is a user-friendly device that can:
- Create a profile for the client
- Compare the test results during the treatment
- Examine the patient’s recovery process
- Calibrate automatically
- Present 1 degree and 1 millimeter accuracy
- Indicate abnormality of the skeletal system
The application of Posture Analysis in various fields
Orthopedics is a branch of surgery focused on the body’s musculoskeletal system, encompassing bones, joints, muscles, and related tissues. Orthopedic physicians, also known as bone and joint specialists or orthopedists, employ both surgical and non-surgical interventions to treat movement disorders. They use a posture analysis device to examine the client’s spine and skeleton to help in making precise initial diagnoses, devising treatment plans, and monitoring recovery and treatment effectiveness. PT-Posture analyzer prevents the referral of many clients who do not have severe complications to radiology.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a science that not only enhances people’s quality of life but also serves as a preventive measure against injuries. It is integral to both rehabilitation and acute care systems. Apart from maintaining motor functions, physiotherapists actively manage chronic diseases and educate patients and their caregivers. Hence, employing the PT-Posture Analyzer to assess patients’ spine and skeletal structure is effective in early detection or more precise diagnosis of diseases. Also, it helps in providing treatment plans and monitoring the progress and efficacy of treatments.
Sports
In systematic approaches to identifying sporting talent, sports institutions offer conducive environments for athletes’ growth. Individuals are guided towards disciplines that suit them, both physiologically and psychologically. Hence, recognizing talent, particularly in sports, necessitates a thorough assessment of the athlete’s physical structure. Medical and sports specialists can illuminate the path to talent development by taking into account athlete’s posture and prescribing appropriate exercises, along with regular evaluations.
Students’ health screening
When a student adopts an appropriate posture, not only does it increase their ability to concentrate, but it also improves their mental performance and retention of information. Early detection of abnormal posture is critical in students. Investigating the causes and incorrect habits related to abnormal posture in students, and providing a corrective model, are of great importance. Using the PT-Posture Analyzer to analyze postural abnormalities in schools, along with regular and periodic monitoring of students, can prevent spine and skeletal system disorders in the coming years of their lives.
Who are the users?
Physicians and specialists in the fields of stature skeletal structure and spine are the main users of the posture analysis device. These specialists include:
- Orthopedic surgeons
- Physiotherapists
- Technical orthopedic specialists
- Medical-sports specialists
- Sports coaches
- Children and adolescents’ health screening devices
